Electric Light Orchestra - Eldorado 12”
Oh man, ELO is great. I was really excited when I got to this record because I was trying to write thank you cards for people that came to my wedding and needed good background music. ELO is amazing relaxing music. This album is actually ELO’s first concept album. The plot follows a Walter Mitty-like character who journeys into fantasy worlds via dreams, in order to escape the disillusionment of his mundane reality. The sing began to write the album in response to criticisms from his father, a classical music lover, who said that Electric Light Orchestra’s repertoire “had no tune”. This album has tune.

Electric Light Orchestra - Ole ELO 12”
Fun fact:
Olé ELO is the second compilation album by the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) covering their early years. Released in 1976, this LP was originally compiled by United Artists Records as a promotional album for American radio stations, but when copies of the LP started selling to fans “underground” United Artists decided to release it in the US to capitalize on the band’s growing popularity.
